These Terms are an agreement between you and the trader identified above, trading as Monetari (“Monetari”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
They apply to the Monetari mobile application, web application, website, APIs, and related services. By creating an account or using Monetari after these Terms are presented to you, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the service.
Our Privacy policy explains how personal data is handled. Store rules and other third-party terms may also apply where you download the app or purchase a subscription.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering this agreement.
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your email address current.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your device, password, authentication methods, and activity performed through your account.
- You must notify us promptly at hello@info.monetari.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One person may not impersonate another, create an account using an email address they do not control, or transfer an account without our written agreement.
3. What Monetari provides
Monetari helps you record and organise personal expenses. Depending on your device, plan, and released features, the service may include manual transactions, payment-notification capture, categories, merchant rules, review queues, currency conversion, budgets, recurring-pattern detection, exports, and spending insights.
Monetari is not a bank, payment institution, account-information service, accountant, tax adviser, investment service, credit provider, or financial adviser. It does not initiate payments, hold funds, access your bank account, or guarantee that a ledger is complete. Features described as previews, roadmap items, waitlist items, or “coming soon” are not part of the contracted service until released.
The web dashboard advertised on the landing site is a future feature. The current web prototype uses browser-local demo data and is not a promise of live cloud synchronisation.
Automatic notification capture requires a compatible Android device, notification access, and a source app that publishes a usable payment notification. Current compatibility, download size, permissions, and minimum operating-system requirements are shown in the Google Play listing. The web application requires a supported modern browser and network connection for cloud-backed features.
4. Notification access
Automatic capture is optional and currently depends on Android's notification listener. Android presents a system-level permission because notification access is technically broad. Within Monetari, you select the source apps whose notifications may be used. You should enable only apps and notifications you are authorised to process.
You can revoke notification access or remove a source in device settings. Doing so stops future automatic captures but does not delete records already queued on the device, uploaded, or added to your ledger. Some purchases do not generate usable notifications, and operating-system restrictions, connectivity, wording changes, duplicate notifications, or device settings can delay or prevent capture. Manual review and entry remain your responsibility.
The selected-source allowlist remains on your device. A selected notification is first queued locally under the verified Monetari account active at that time. The app can upload it while active, after reconnecting, or through Android's scheduled background work. The upload contains an app-generated device identifier, the source app package, posting time, and raw notification text; the backend rejects a batch if its account identifier does not match the authenticated session. Processing is asynchronous and may use Amazon Bedrock when your merchant rules do not resolve the category. The local queue entry is removed after the API accepts it or confirms it as a duplicate; failed or quota-paused uploads remain queued for retry. A later signed-in account cannot upload or view those pending records. Fixture and end-to-end test mode are local-only.
5. Accuracy and financial decisions
Parsing, merchant matching, exchange-rate conversion, recurring-pattern detection, and AI-assisted categorisation can be incomplete or wrong. Low-confidence items may be held for review, but automated confidence does not guarantee accuracy. You are responsible for reviewing records before relying on them.
Exchange rates are intended to use European Central Bank reference data for the relevant date and may use the latest prior published rate for weekends or holidays. They are informational accounting conversions, not executable exchange quotes.
Do not use Monetari as the sole source for tax filings, legal evidence, account balances, payment disputes, credit decisions, or time-critical financial decisions. Compare important records against receipts, statements, and advice from a qualified professional.
6. Free and Premium plans
Free
The current Free plan includes unlimited manual entry, categories, merchant rules, review and correction tools, self-service export of records available within the Free viewing window, and up to 20 accepted automatic captures per calendar month. Duplicate captures do not intentionally consume a second allowance.
After the monthly automatic-capture allowance is reached, additional captures may be stored in a held state rather than converted into transactions. They can be processed when the allowance resets or Premium becomes active if they have not first expired under your selected on-device retention period or been cleared from the device. Free accounts can view the current month and the previous two months; older records remain stored and become available again when Premium is active, including in full-history self-service exports, subject to retention and account-deletion rules.
Premium
Premium currently removes the automatic-capture limit and unlocks full-history views and exports, budgets, and other paid capabilities identified in the Google Play offer and in-app purchase screen. Availability can depend on platform, release stage, and server-side entitlement verification.
Plan changes
We may change future plan features or limits for a valid product, security, legal, or economic reason. We will not retroactively remove a paid entitlement already purchased for its current billing period unless required by law or necessary to prevent serious harm. A modification beyond what is needed to maintain conformity will not impose an additional charge. Material adverse changes will be communicated in advance on a durable medium where required, together with any statutory right to terminate, and mandatory consumer remedies remain available.
7. Billing, cancellation, and refunds
- Premium purchases in the Android app are processed by Google Play. The final price, billing period, applicable tax, trial or introductory offer, and renewal terms shown by Google Play at checkout control that purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before renewal through Google Play. Removing the app does not by itself cancel a subscription.
- Monetari activates Premium only after the backend verifies the purchase with Google. A pending, invalid, refunded, expired, held, or cancelled purchase may not provide an active entitlement.
- You can manage or cancel through your Google Play subscriptions. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period unless Google or applicable law provides otherwise.
- Refunds and statutory withdrawal requests are handled under applicable consumer law and the Google Play process. Nothing in these Terms removes a refund, withdrawal, conformity, or other remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
As of the effective date, Monetari advertises Premium at €4 per month or €30 per year. Store pricing can vary by country or change before purchase; the tax-inclusive amount and currency shown in Google Play immediately before you order are the amount you agree to pay. There is no separate free trial unless the checkout expressly offers one.
When Premium ends, automatic capture returns to the Free allowance, older history becomes hidden outside the Free viewing window, and paid-only features stop operating. Existing ledger history and saved budget definitions are not deleted solely because a subscription ended. Self-service export becomes limited to records available in the Free viewing window until Premium is active again, but this does not limit any statutory access or portability request described in the Privacy Policy.
How an online purchase is formed
Before payment, Google Play displays the product, billing period, final price, renewal terms, seller or merchant information, and a control that makes the payment obligation clear. You can correct purchase choices before confirming. The contract for Premium is formed when the store accepts the order and sends electronic confirmation. Google's receipt and purchase history provide the transaction record.
These Terms are provided in English and can be saved or printed from this page. If a translated version is supplied, mandatory local-law interpretation rules continue to apply.
EU withdrawal rights
If you are an EU consumer, a distance contract normally carries a 14-day withdrawal period. For a digital service or digital content that starts immediately, the way that right applies depends on what you expressly requested and acknowledged at checkout and on the service already supplied. Any loss of a withdrawal right is effective only where the legal requirements for prior express consent and acknowledgement have been met. Google Play provides the checkout record and refund route for purchases it processes.
Where a direct notice to Monetari is legally available, you can email hello@info.monetari.app with a clear statement that you withdraw, your name, account email, product or order identifier, and purchase date. The electronic withdrawal function offered in the interface where the contract was concluded should be used when applicable.
8. Your data and privacy
You retain ownership of the records and content you provide. You give us a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, copy, transmit, parse, categorise, calculate, display, export, and otherwise process that content only as needed to provide, secure, and improve Monetari in accordance with the Privacy policy and your settings.
You can edit or delete individual records where the product allows, use self-service export for records available under your plan, ask us to fulfil applicable access or portability rights regardless of plan, change raw-capture retention, and request account deletion. You are responsible for saving anything you want to keep before deleting the account.
9. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Monetari for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or abusive activity;
- upload or capture information you are not entitled to process, including another person's private notifications without authority;
- probe, scan, disrupt, overload, bypass, or interfere with security, authentication, usage limits, billing verification, or service infrastructure;
- introduce malware, automate abusive requests, scrape non-public data, or attempt to access another user's account or records;
- reverse engineer or copy protected parts of the service except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
- use Monetari in a way that infringes another person's rights.
10. Intellectual property
Monetari and its software, design, branding, documentation, and service content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the released application and service for your own lawful personal use.
Open-source components remain governed by their own licences. Feedback is voluntary; if you provide it, you allow us to use it without restriction or payment, but this does not transfer ownership of your financial records or personal data.
11. Third-party services
Monetari relies on services such as Android, Google Play, Amazon Web Services, Amazon Bedrock, PostHog, Loops, and website-hosting infrastructure. Their availability and separate terms may affect particular features. We are responsible for our own service and processor choices, but not for an unrelated third-party product or account that you use independently.
Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and do not make their content part of these Terms.
12. Availability, updates, and changes
We work to keep Monetari available and captures reliable, but uninterrupted or error-free operation cannot be guaranteed. Maintenance, provider outages, device restrictions, security incidents, legal requirements, or events outside reasonable control may interrupt the service.
We may issue application or service updates for security, compatibility, legal compliance, or feature changes. You may need to install an update to continue using the service safely. Where EU consumer law requires updates necessary to keep digital content or a digital service in conformity, we will provide them for the legally required period.
13. Suspension, termination, and account deletion
You may stop using Monetari at any time and may request account deletion through the product. Deletion is designed to remove the account identity, financial records, captures, settings, and temporary exports through an asynchronous process, subject to limited data we must retain by law or to establish or defend claims.
Account deletion starts Monetari's subscription-cancellation workflow, but you should also confirm the subscription status directly in Google Play. Deleting the app or losing access to a device is not the same as deleting the account.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, investigate suspected abuse, comply with law, or address a serious breach of these Terms. Except where immediate action is necessary, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue. We may terminate for an uncured material breach or if the service is discontinued.
14. Consumer guarantees
If you are an EU consumer, mandatory rights relating to digital content and digital services apply in addition to these Terms. This can include rights to supply, conformity, security updates, repair or restoration, price reduction, or termination where statutory conditions are met. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits those rights.
Any statement that the service is provided “as available” describes technical reality; it does not waive a guarantee, remedy, or burden of proof that applicable consumer law makes mandatory.
15. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable, or your mandatory consumer rights.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the agreement was made, for business losses arising from consumer use, or for inaccurate decisions made without checking Monetari against the original financial record. You remain responsible for device backups, account security, and exporting records before deletion where those steps are within your control.
16. Governing law, disputes, and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of Croatia. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the European Union, that choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections provided by the law of your habitual residence or of any court venue available to you under mandatory law.
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. You may also use any consumer alternative-dispute-resolution body that is competent for the trader and dispute. We will provide the applicable body's details where required by law. Current publication detail: [Insert the competent consumer ADR body, if applicable].
We may update these Terms for a valid legal, security, technical, or product reason. The updated version will show a new effective date. Material changes will be announced in advance where reasonably possible and will not retroactively remove accrued rights.
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent allowed by law. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. We may transfer this agreement as part of a genuine reorganisation or transfer of the service only where doing so does not reduce your mandatory rights; otherwise your consent will be obtained where required.
